| Other Companies Incorporated in Northrop Grumman

In the last ten to twenty years, a major trend in large U.S. corporations has been consolidation and acquisition. Before purchasing Litton Industries, Northrop Grumman also acquired the following military contracting and strategic industries:
-Westinghouse Electronic Systems, a manufacturer of radar systems -Logicon, a defense computer contractor -Teledyne Ryan, developer of surveillance systems and unmanned aircraft -TRW, space systems and laser systems manufacturer
A bid to acquire Lockheed Martin was disallowed by the U.S. government in 1997. And Northrop Grumman is collaborating with Boeing and other companies to design space exploration vehicles.
Today, Litton Industries, unlike many of the companies that have been incorporated into Northrop Grumman, is not a distinguishable part of the company; instead, it has been fully integrated into other segments. |
